African elephants and leopards are present, but rarely seen. The park is at the base of Mount Meru, which is good for hiking. Bird-life in the forest is prolific, with many forest species more easily seen here. Though very accessible, Arusha NP isn’t on many safari itineraries. This is mainly because it doesn’t offer a chance of seeing the Big 5. It has a range of habitats including forest – home to the black-and-white colobus monkey – and is excellent for birding. On every day of the safari, your guide will discuss with you the best timings for you, including the game drives and the wake up time. For example, on this day, you could do a morning game drive, return to the amp/lodge for lunch and relaxation and finish with an afternoon game drive, or you could do a full day game drive with picnic lunch. After the game drive, you will return back to5 star lodge.
Today you will wake up very early in the morning for a sunrise game drive. Later at noon you will return back to the campsite/rest house for a brunch/lunch and then you will continue with the afternoon game drive. Later in the evening you will drive to 5 star lodge for an overnight.
Today you will wake up very early to do an early morning game drive after breakfast, to spot the animals when they are more active and also to have a fantastic sun rise in front of you. The sunrise in the African Savanna is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. You will then travel to Ngorongoro Crater, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wild life in the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, and a soda lake that from the top looks like steam, full of flamingos, a forest and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. After a full day game drive, we expect to be back in Arusha around 6:00 pm although we can be flexible if needed (i.e. flight to catch). Likewise you will be transferred to curio shops where you can grab some souvenirs to take back home with you. After long day in the crater you will drive back to Arusha at Coffee Lodge and spend the night.
